Getting tattooed while drunk is a bad idea, and in some states it is a crime. Before getting a tattoo, a release form must be filled out stating the person to be tattooed is not inebriated. These are State issued forms. Other reasons getting tattooed while drunk is a bad idea include picking out dumb tattoos and placing them in regrettable places. There are many things one should not do while drinking and getting tattooed is one.
There are few tattoo artist that will knowingly tattoo a pregnant woman. The generally idea being that no matter how much one may want a tattoo, a pregnant woman should focus all her healing power on the new baby.
You should never get a tattoo on sun burned skin. There are several reasons not to but the most serious is the risk of infection due to the fact that the skin is all ready broken and inflamed. This inflamed area is open to any bacteria that may be in the tattoo area. The prudent tattoo enthusiast waits until there skin is completely healed from sun burns before getting tattooed.
Getting tattooed on vacation is a bad idea for a few reasons not the least of which is price. Generally people vacation in vacation towns, tattoo shops in these areas cater to the tourist trade. Often making the majority of there income over the summer. For this reason pricing in these touristy areas are often two to three times as much. Also theirs the obvious problem of getting tattooed by a person you will never see again, like what if you need a touch up? It may be a better idea to wait and scratch that tattoo itch when one gets back to there home town.
