Picking a good tattoo design is crucial. You want to have a design you won't regret, but also one you will look forward to seeing everyday. So how can you guarantee you find a good design?

Follow these 3 tattoo help steps for finding your ideal ink:

1. High Quality. Whatever type of design you go for, make sure it is high quality. This ensures it will last and the chances of it fading over time are lessened. There are some that may appear as if they would make good tattoos, but if your choice doesn't come from a good source like a tattoo book or gallery, then be sure to consult an artist and ask if the design would be suitable to get inked on.

2. Personal. Always try to include something personal in your ink decision. This doesn't have to be totally specific, it can be an ideal or a quality you have or would like to achieve. It can also simply be something that you genuinely like. Favorite flowers, favorite animal, and so forth. Something that speaks towards your personality and is "true to you" will be a solid choice for ink. Some of the most common regrets are people who choose their ink based on what's trendy during that time. They will have no personal connection to their design, only a connection to the trend of the moment. This sets the stage for major embarrassment and regret in the future.

3. Find a good source. There are many tattoos online, unfortunately many of them are pretty lousy. There are much more elaborate ink styles out there, so be sure to research a good gallery or find a good book with solid design ideas.
