There are many people that get a tattoo early on in life. It was very common practice in the 1950's for men that were in the military, or later on for bikers. It has become such a fad that even teenagers are getting them, but more and more people are not so proud of their tattoos anymore. They have that old boyfriend's name tatted on them, and they pledged to love them forever, but for some reason they can't remember their last name, or maybe it's that badly inked butterfly or skull on their chest. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but not so much now? Think about it. Do you really want what you have tatted on your backside in a couple of decades?

Some folks opt for Laser removal. It requires many treatments, is very expensive, and is reputed to be very painful. Also, traces of the tattoo are left on the skin. You could also go the Pulse Light Removal method, but be aware that it is quite costly, anywhere from $6000 and up, and usually leaves burns and/or scars.

A lot of people are using Trichloroacetic Acid, or more commonly called TCA. It's a peeling agent that is non-prescription, and is starting to be the most popular method used and recommended by doctors and skin professionals. It is a non abrasive agent that feels very light on the skin, like water when applied, and takes approximately 6-8 weeks for removal of the tattoo.

There are a few factors you must consider when considering getting your tattoo removed, such as how old the tattoo is, how much ink was used when it was done, and ink type. Even the color of your skin can affect results. It is the only method that is 100% guaranteed to erase all ink trace of the tattoo, regardless of color, size, or shape. Skin care pros use it to get rid of acne scars, age spots and wrinkles, but more often it is being utilized for tattoos. In addition, plastic surgery journals have begun to mention TCA, and how effective it is for the removal of tattoos.

If you have outgrown your tat, consider TCA. It's amazing, and it works.
