Since it was the native Americans who are the first few people who are fascinated and in turn painted their bodies with different symbols that represent their personality, young people can't help but have one too.

If grandma had one, why can't I?

Examples of Native American tribal tattoos are that of the Cherokee, Blackfoot or Lenape, these are the logo of each tribal group centuries ago. The young, nowadays, are getting tattoos for two reasons: to honor their heritage or for aesthetics sake.

For full blooded Native Americans who wanted to connect with your grandmother's people, and then you should be sure of your lineage. A Native American tribal tattoo is a permanent thing and you will stick with it forever. If due to rash judgment you get the wrong tribe, that's a big problem. Just imagine how your Assiniboine ancestors can accept you, if you have Cherokee all over you!

As for others who wanted a cool looking tattoo and thinks that a Native American Tribal Tattoos would be perfect, there is really no problem with that however there are some clamor with the native Americans that having those even you are not part of their clan is disrespectful. Remember that tattoos here are part of their ancestral past and is very sacred to them.

If you really insist on getting one maybe you could use a word from a Native American language as a design. That is the easiest way to have a cool native American tribal tattoo without offending our Native Americans brothers and sisters.
