I'm not going to sit here and tell you which style choices you should pick. Never let outside influence decide what you put on your body. With that said, I am here to tell you about what to look for in artwork and how to make sure you are 100% happy with any back of neck tattoos you end up inking on yourself.

First off all, you need to be thinking clearly when selecting designs, because this is a very visible part of you body and it's not very easy to cover up. If you get inked with something and you don't like it later in life, you are very limited to what you can do, because there's not much room to work with when covering it up. The worst thing people do is pick some half generic design, because it's the "in" thing to do. This leads to regret in 90% of the people who get generic back of neck tattoos.

You don't want something that is too detailed, especially if you're going for a pretty small tattoo. The smaller the design is, the less you want detail. It might sound odd, but it makes a whole lot of sense, because it will look very, very jumbled if you try to put too much detail into such a small design choice. I've run into so many people who have blurry artwork on their necks, because that's what a very detailed, small piece will turn into over time.

Last but not least, take quite a few designs to your local artist. They can always alter them to your liking. This is something many people don't even think about, yet it's the only way to get inked with original design you are fully, 100% in love with. Taking pride in the back of neck tattoos you get inked is a sure way to be totally happy with your choice. Don't be afraid to ask multiple artists questions about the designs you want and ask questions about shading and coloring issue. 90% of the designs you pick will look totally different once inked on your skin.

It's the simple things you can take advantage of when selecting back of neck tattoos that will make the biggest difference.
