Tribal Tattoo's An Afterthought or a Rebirth?

I know exactly what you are thinking, tribal tattoos are on every arm of every muscle head you knew in college. Thick black lines of prowess that seemed to gain great attention between that set of people who hadn't considered tattooing to be for them. It brought tattoos to the masses from the dingy biker bars and navy men of the past.

Tribal tattooing roots come from Samoans which actually in their language gave us the word Tattoo. Tribal tattooing actually manifested from all over the globe but places like Polynesia and Aztecs were actually some of the first. Egyptian mummies were said to have been found with tattoo's on their skin as well as in Africa as well where a priestess was found with marks like bars against her arms and legs and upon her navel.

Tribal tattooing has been a staple in ancient cultures for thousands of years. Warriors adorning themselves with large smears of pain to signify stature in the tribe or to his level of commitment to defend his people and their land.

In those days it 's soul reserved for high level warriors and high level Priests and Priestesses but nothing else, The common man wouldn't have adorned themselves with tattoo's because they wouldn't have anything to prove. Today the nature of tribal tattooing has taken off giving back to the simple man to royals alike, there is no stature limitations.

Tribal tattoos are worn because of the cultural phenomenon of the art that it had become. Males sporting the bold black ink feeling as if they were apart of a tribe themselves. In all actuality that was true! Truth be told the male figure of spirit and virility is embodied in the very DNA that makes up who we are as human being. We are fighters and Warriors deep down from lines of Warriors which had been descended from our ancestors into who we are today.

We've lost our hunter gather ways but tribal tattoos offer a way to show proudly the inner warrior. It's not just males who display tribal tattoos anymore, It's women as well. Women had long been seen as the home bound embodiment of nurture and well being.

Over the last 40 years women have liberated their statures and to place on their skins the tribal art be it as bold as a males or a more delicate complicated design it's to show they've survived whatever it was they came from and came out the other side stronger than ever before.

So from humble warriors beginning to Mainstream culture phenomenon, There is a tribe of warrior within all humans and once we mark that upon our skin with a tribal tattoo we become apart of his tribe, We become an embodiment to our heritage and human nature. The struggle between making ourselves look and feel as our souls feel within by tattoos and artwork on the skin can help to bring the mind and spirit to the body itself.
