Thinking of your tattoo design is perhaps very puzzling because you are faced with a wide variety of choices. Deciding on which location would be just as hard. There are considerations that you should bear in mind.

Visibility

It should depend on the type of your personality. If you are a little shy or reserved but really want to get a tattoo you will opt to place it in a location where it is not that exposed and only those that are close to you knows about it. However, if you are more adventurous and confident, feel free to show it off.

Long Term Consequences

As you grow old, your skin changes and your tattoo may fade, stretched or become distorted. Consider places that aren't much affected when you gain or lose weight. Tattoos in your stomach are the most prone area and is also subject to distortion during pregnancy. Also, if you want to consider your future you may want to be able to hide it with your clothes to maintain a decent and professional look. Being employed in the future would also be a major factor in your decisions.

Pain threshold

Tattoos can be very painful. However, different locations vary in pain as there are places where it hurts more than others. Areas that are bony are more painful such as knees, elbows, spine, feet, ribcage and behind the ears. If you are not familiar on the pain sensation tattooing brings, consider getting one on padded areas. If you think you can bear any pain intensity, you can certainly get tattoos on those areas.

Meaning

Tattoos have certain meanings. Even its location may signify something about the bearer. Couples tend to put tattoos on places that are not plainly visible thus gives a notion about intimacy and closeness. They also put it on their chest that means close to their hearts. Wedding ring tattoos are also available that suggest commitment. Lower back tattoos emphasize sexiness while big tattoos on the arms suggest valour and strength.

If you carefully consider the factors above, I'm sure you will not have any regrets about your tattoo.
