Tattoo removal is a procedure that is becoming every more popular nowadays. There are now a variety of ways which you can pursue to remove your tattoos so the question is very difficult to answer in general terms. Instead, I'll break it down into options so that you understand exactly what you should expect to pay for each of the treatments at your disposal.

Laser tattoo Removal

You'll need a number of sessions at a specialist dermatological clinic to have this kind of treatment done and therefore it is a very expensive treatment to take. You can expect to pay somewhere in the region of $200 - $500 for each session and you should bare in mind that professional tattoos will take from 6 to 8 sessions to be completely removed. So you're looking at somewhere in the region of $1200 to $4000 for one tattoo.

Light Pulse

This is a very similar situation to laser removal in that you'll need to go to a specialist practitioner to get the treatment performed and so therefore you'll need to pay not only for use of the equipment but for the time of the staff. This doesn't come cheap, and is pretty much on level par with laser tattoo removal.

Chemical Peels

These are generally less effective than the above examples because tattoos don't always get completely removed from eyesight, however the majority of the darkness is removed and for most people this is sufficient. Cost-wise you're looking at somewhere in the region of $150 per peel, and you'll probably need around 8 peels to get the tattoo to a level of lightness that is acceptable. You can therefore expect to pay somewhere in the region of $1200.

Home Tattoo Removal Kits

These new home tattoo removal kits are surprisingly producing good results. To follow them through you'll need to buy a guide that takes you through the process - this will cost somewhere in the region of $40 - $50 and then you'll need to buy the ingredients that are needed to remove that tattoo which is about the same price again. All in all, you're looking at around $100.

In Summary

Because the price of the premium treatments is so high, it's definitely worth experiment with the home tattoo removal kits because even if it only lightens the tattoo without completely removing, that means less money will need to be spent on the three more expensive options: laser, light pulse and chemical peels.
