People have different reactions when trying to get a tattoo. Some may feel scared but others may just laugh at it. But it's pretty certain that after you have it, you will feel satisfied- that you have endured it and you get what you want.

Here is a guideline that will help you prepare before getting a tattoo.

-Find a reputable tattoo artist that will be able to meet your standards of quality and safety.

- Be certain of the design that you're getting. Make sure it is what you want. Finalize any details. Remember it's permanent and you can't really change it afterwards.

- Decide on the location. You should definitely know where to put your tattoo.

- Avoid alcohol a day before a tattoo appointment. Alcohol thins your blood thereby making you susceptible to bleeding and disturbs the artist vision on the tattoo as it is constantly gets covered by blood. Further, the stencil or inked will possibly be rubbed off when your artist wipes it repeatedly. Also, it can affect healing.

-Don't get sick. Compromised immune system will make you susceptible to infection. Reschedule your appointment when you are on your perfect state already.

-Get a good sleep the night ahead. Tattooing may get you tired especially when sitting for a long period of time. You don't want to drowse off in the shop.

-Eat right prior the appointment. It energizes your body and deposit nutrients and blood sugar level that you will be losing during the procedure.

-Bring something to drink to re-hydrate and re-energize you from time to time.

-Wear something comfortable. Make sure it easily bare the chosen area for the tattoo and not too tight so it will not rub the tattoo afterwards. Also make sure that you are okay to have it ink or blood stained.

-Realize and be ready that you will have to avoid activities that will jeopardize your tattoo such as swimming or sunbathing.

-Finally, just stay relax in the process.
