Everyone is Doing It

Top celebrities that are inked include Angelina Jolie- Pitt and her banging body is at the top of the list for female celebrities followed by Pamela Anderson Lee and Brittany Spears. Johnny Depp is on the top of the list of male celebrities. Not to be left off the male celebrity list are Orlando Bloom and Billy Bob Thorton.

Athletes who are considered to be role models for our children and set good examples are bearing biceps, among other things, with tattoos. David Beckham with his finely sculpted body definitely tops my list of male tattooed athletes. Listed among top female athletes is United States soccer player, Natasha Kai. The list of athletes is endless, but some of the more notable athletes with ink are; Jeremy Shockey of the New York Giants who has an awesome tattoo of a Bald Eagle on his hulking bicep and crazy Denis Rodham, who we never know what is next with his body art.

Politicians, this was a hard one, but I suspect that politicians hide their tattoos along with many other secrets from the public. Shannon O'Brien, gubernatorial nominee for Massachusetts, has a tattoo but I have yet where to find out at. We know she did ask Tim Russert if he wanted to see her tattoo during a 2002 debate. Barry Goldwater, a 5 term United States Senator from Arizona, bears a tattoo on the underside of his left hand. It is also rumored that Sarah Palin had her lip liner tattooed on and a big dipper tattoo on her ankle after losing a bet with her husband. Again rumor, but take a look at all the pictures on the internet and decide for yourself. Either way who could blame her for trying to cut down on her daily routine?

Royals that are known for their ink date back to King Harold II of England to Prince Charles of today.

The list of soccer moms only you know. She is that conservative women driving the mini-van, shopping next to you with the kids in the grocery cart at the local store. You see, women have begun to get tattoos as a way to embrace and empower their feminine side.

The point is with the everyday increasing popularity of body art, you can be running for vice president, leading your team to victory, starring in a movie or just shopping in the grocery store. People of all ages, races and social status are inking their bodies. Although you may still find a few people who look down their nose at your precious body art, I think that deep down it is more envy than dislike that lies in their hearts. Envy to be able to empower their body. Courage to display the art work on their body that is a tribute to someone you love or some other special meaning of your choice.
