Do you have children? Have you ever dealt with generation gap? From my point of view, conflicts between children and their parents are such a common thing that we all have got used to them. Difference of opinions, difference of tastes, difference of views, difference practically of everything. We can hear so often the same words of adults : What do they wear!? And what do they listen to?! Isn't music? And adults seize heads. And continue to surprise, not understand and lament. And teenagers continue to do these strange things which are clear only to them. Many of these teenagers gather together and form real movements. Do you know any of them? I think Yes. For instance, punks or hippies. We can see representatives of such groups in many public places: in public transport, in squares and parks. They live their own life, wear their own special clothes, have their own understanding of this world. All this distinguishes them from other people, makes them different and united. Some people have already got used to such phenomenon, but others look at them like at uncommon exhibits in the museum. Their clothes, dreadlocks, special tokens and ornaments attract and alert us simultaneously.
I thought about this wandering in the park. I was shocked and surprised when my little son saw boy with gothic appearance and said:'I want to be like him. And I'll become like him. Do you like him, Dad? He is cool, isn't he?' It was useless to explain to my son that I didn't like him to be like that gothic guy. I understood that the time would come and my son dressed in everything black would close the door of his room behind my nose with a shout: 'You don't understand me! You never understood me!' I understand him already now. All teenagers want to differ from other people, not to be like a majority. Cause they try to find themselves by such means. To understand what they want from this life. It is a hard work to be a teenager. And we adults should do everything possible to make respectable people of human society from our children. Help them to deal with this complicated world and try to understand them. Just remember yourself in your youth. You were the same.
My son became Goth as he wanted. Of course we have some misunderstandings sometimes but they are not serious.
And I wander in the park and thought of my son's flower tattoos
