A tattoo is a permanent mark on one's body that used to be irreversible. In olden days, tattoos used to be permanent, but due to the advancement in technology, we have solutions to most problems and diseases, there are many ways of removing them and this is done easily and efficiently.
Reasons for removal
People may want to get their tattoos removed so that they will stop being a burden to them. They might regret getting it, or it might be holding them back from getting a job. It might be a goal that someone may want to achieve. The tattoo that one may be wearing may belong to a gang that one doesn't belong to, or is no longer associated to and, it would be in their best interest to remove it. One may want to remove a tattoo that symbolizes hate, a past love or other experiences that one is willing to let go.
One need to consider whether they want to remove it completely or partially, one ought to consider the options and then settle for any of these techniques:
1. Laser removal: this is a common tattoo removal method that works by targeting the tattoo with pulses of highly concentrated light and breaking it into small pieces which can be, carried away by ones immune system. The more treatments one has, the higher the chances that one can damage their skin causing painful blisters which can lead, to scaring. With improvement of technology, the risks are reduced to a minimum.
2. Intense pulsed light therapy: this method uses high intensity light to target the tattoo pigment, just like in the laser removal. Here, a gel is applied to the skin and a wand emits pulses of light onto the area being treated. This is a less painful and effective method which results into less sessions, it is however, quite expensive.
3. Dermabrasion: this is where sand is used to remove the top layer of the skin and consequently the tattoo. This method is very painful.
4. Excision: here a tattoo is cut away and then the skin is sewn back together. This causes a lot of damage to the skin and result in severe scarring. This method is used only for laser removal is not available.
5. Cream removers: these are creams where one applies over the area with a tattoo and over time, the tattoo fades away.
