Myths and Fallacies of Crazy Tattoos!
Yes, its really true! Almost everything in this life that has been around for any length of time will have myths surrounding it; tattoos are no exception to this. If you are a tattoo lover then you will know this for a fact.
I use to think that tattoos meant you were one of those people! Rough and hard, you know, the biker people. Stereotypes are out. Well, this one myth you can put on the back burner. There are quite a few tattoo myths that need to be eradicated. There are actually no truth what so ever behind them and just exist because people have been misinformed, self centered and believe the TV. Lets examine a few of these myths about these crazy tattoos.
Do tattoos cause hepatitis? That would be a definite no. The reason for any health risk in a tattoo would be bad medical procedures. Scarring and/or virus and infections including staph are also the results of poor procedures of sterilization, equipment, and skill in the medical requirements of doing a tattoo.
The myth one can not get certain x-rays done after a tattoo? That would be another no. The only way I could ever think that this could be a health hazard is if the ink used was radioactive and the x-ray would put you over the edge of Rems. You get more radioactivity from a sun tan. Ask any doctor about the major health risks of tattoos and your answer will be the health risks are associated with the risk for contracting an infection.
Of course you could have an allergy from latex gloves but lets not get paranoid. There is more risk associated with driving in a City at rush hour.
What about the myth that tattoos are forever. If they can laser your eyes out, what do you think they can do with your skin! I always wondered how my tattoo would look after 20 years? Faded and wrinkled, I bet! Well, contrary to popular belief today's inks are quite resilient. The best thing you can do for a tattoo, or for your skin for that matter, is stay out of the sun and use the highest SP you can get. Skin wrinkles 100 times as fast in the sun. Hydrate your body and keep the wrinkles away!
Here is one I almost flipped my wig on. There is an urban legend out there that you can not get an epidural (spinal) administered if the medical needle would have to pass through a tattoo! Now I have heard every thing. For you young ladies out there, if your doctor tells you this, he is a quack.
Yes in Tattoo Art,Tattoos are an Art, but beware of the Artist. He or she may be the "Art". Hope you enjoyed this little jaunt on Tattoos. I Love them and Hope You Do Too!
