- There won't be as much fading as there is with color. If your new tattoo is meant to have a lot of meaning to you then you may want to think about getting a black and white tattoo design. Over time the color can fade and you will have to constantly get it touched up so that it will stay the same as the day you got it.
- You can save a lot of money. Adding color to your tattoos can sometimes double or even triple and more on the cost of your tattoo. Money is a big issue when it comes to getting a tattoo so if you take out the cost of coloring your tattoo you can just focus on the cost of the design that you want to get.
- If you want to add color later you can go back and get it. If you get a black and white tattoo design and later you decide that you want to add some color, you can. But if you just go for the color in the first place you can't go back and change it. Who knows you might just like the way black and white looks on your tattoo. Even if you do like the black and white you can add just a little bit of color. You don't have to get the whole thing colored. Sometimes a small amount of color can add to the appeal of your tattoo design.
- There can be less pain with black and white tattoo designs. If you are someone that doesn't take pain very well or it is your first tattoo and you don't know how well you can take the pain then you may want to opt out for the colors. Once again, if the pain doesn't bother you much you can go back at a later time and get some color added to your tattoo.
I myself have 10 tattoos and only color on two of them. I think that they just look better without color. Don't get me wrong, there are some designs that look great with color but after time they may not look so great.
